Aquatech has an immediate need for a fulltime Operator to work in our Baton Rouge, LA location.
The Operator will perform the duties described in the job description below and will considered a Non Exempt employee.
The ideal candidate will have good communications skills, organized, ability to interpret instructions, and an attention to detail.
The candidate will have prior experience working in industrial water treatment plants.
Minimum Qualifications /
Experience:
Five (5) or more years of related experience in Process Operations or Water Treatment TWIC Card
Job Description:
Monitor the plant equipment (includes spray film evaporator, compressor, heat exchangers, centrifugal pumps and chemical injection systems) Maintain records of operation (daily reports, monthly reports, safety reports etc.
) Advise on ordering chemicals and consumables Advise on ordering spare parts Carry out quality checks and chemistry control Report any abnormalities to customer as well as Aquatech home office Maximize plant uptime Assist plant operators in collecting water samples Assist in maintenance of the plant on as required basis Ensure safe operation in the plant Ensure continuity and information transfer between shift operations Supervise sub-contractor work and assist in developing construction and commissioning documents Skill Requirements:
Excellent skill required in troubleshooting process plants including rotating equipment such as compressors.
Pumps and chemical injection systems.
Experience with heat exchanger operation and maintenance a plus.
Should be familiar with water treatment systems (pumps, motors, blower, valves & piping).
Any experience with thermal evaporation and Zero Liquid Discharge for water plants is highly desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and maintain positive attitude and good organizational skills.
We are looking for a candidate that can handle a complex plant which is unique in the industry Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks or projects.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Attention to detail and team player Independently manage shift operation Familiarity with maintaining O&M logs is a must Some knowledge of water chemistry and chemistry in general is required.
Able to assist in carrying out laboratory analysis Must possess TWIC card or should quickly be able to obtain one.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
