0-1 year Knowledge Basics of Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level How to identify, and proper use of, different types of valves Energy isolation and zero energy verification How to identify and use of different tools Common job hazards and safe work practices Common fittings, jargon/shorthand names for our common equipment Skills Set up and operate equipment Run and connect hoses Operate a steam blowdown manifold Monitor pressure, level, and temperature of equipment Collect samples Operate a forklift Abilities Stay focused during long shifts/night shift Remain standing/walking for long periods Lift and carry objects >50 lbs Take direction and ask for clarification Active learning, learn on the job Travel for long stretches of time Shift work Climb ladders/stairs to work at height.
