This position will also be responsible for Human Resources Department management functions as well.
Collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, and other office personnel to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and codes.
Ensures required compliance with OSHA regulations, record-keeping, and reporting.
Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
Conducts safety inspections and audits at all terminals to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
Investigate all accidents and injuries, finding root cause & preventability Ability to analyze, define, and diagnose all risk management issues based on sound logic and rationale.
Ability to plan and execute events and safety training for entire company.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Oversee and maintain compliance of company drug and alcohol testing.
Manage all aspects of recruiting for drivers and support staff.
Oversee all functions of the HR Department to include employee benefits, employee reviews, discipline, and terminations.
Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
Monitor to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA, and labor laws.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to conduct training.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Extensive knowledge of ISN, Aveta, and DISA compliance.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
Travel required.
