Safety Manager - PHA Specialist - Geismar
Kelly Engineering is seeking a Process Hazard Analysis Facilitator for one of our premier clients.
This position is located in Geismar, LA and is a contract role estimated to last 6
months.
The client is specifically seeking candidates with 5
years of experience in the Chemicals Manufacturing industry with a background in engineering, operations or maintenance experience.
The ideal candidate will have been a member of numerous PHA review teams and have the skills to either facilitate or learn to facilitate PHA teams including HAZOP and What-If analysis as well as Layers of Protection Analysis including the management of preparation of Process Safety Information that includes P&IDs, Equipment Design Data and Process Parameters that are needed for the successful completion of the PHA.
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and capabilities:
1.
Must have good written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
2.
Ability to read and interpret policies, programs and regulations.
3.
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prompt completion of tasks and assignments 4.
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
Relies on minimal instructions and pre-established guidelines and timetables to perform the functions of the job.
5.
Competent with Microsoft Office products, Internet, and other database programs.
Qualifications:
Required:
1.
Associate's Degree in a technical or engineering field or five (5)
years' experience in engineering, operations or maintenance within a Chemical Manufacturing facility.
2.
Familiarity with OSHA PSM regulations including HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and other industry standards including best practices.
Preferred:
1.
Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
2.
Facilitated at least ten (10) PHAs with three (3) of them including a LOPA evaluation.
3.
Experience with PHA software (PHAPro), PHA Certification, TWIC Card.
