Operations Manager - Specialty

Overview Austin Industrial is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries.  Operations Manager - Specialty will administer assigned contracts to ensure compliance with Austin Industrial, as well as customer requirements and policies. Will coordinate the Company's specialty management processes on all contracts and direct the day-to-day operations of assigned sites to achieve overall corporate objectives ensuring maximum operating results. This is a key position in the company reporting to the Vice President of Specialty and has very high visibility.   This position will be based in Geismar, LA and requires travel. Responsibilities Communicates with assigned Project Managers on a regular basis to determine project status. Meets regularly with customer representative at each site to determine customer requirements, discuss performance and promote favorable customer relations. Ensures proper fiscal planning, performance and forecasting for sites on requiredreporting basis. Ensures proper implementation of contract requirements. Implements and manages respective portion of the company strategic plan. Identifies and implements value-added services to the customer. Assures that safety programs are fully implemented on each site. Provides marketing and proposal support for existing and new contracts. Ensures that company-wide resources are effectively coordinated to support the sites. Assures collection of account receivables and manages margin goals of assigned projects. Qualifications Education and Experience: Prefer four-yeardegree in Engineering or Construction Management and/or equivalent combinations of related technical training and experience. Experience in project management of multiple industrial sites specializing in scaffold, insulation and coatings. Significant experience, 10 -15 years, required in managing the specialty services of petrochemicalfacilities, refineries and/or power plants. All with an emphasis on scaffold, insulation, and coatings. Experience directing multiple project managers highly preferred. Recent experience working for a general contractor or specialty contractor. Experience in managing contract execution and financial management. Project Controls experience. Lump sum experience. Must be able to identify, promote and execute a vision of leadership. Must be able to learn and then apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee-owner performance. Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate effectively to diverse audiences. Must have strong computer skill in basic Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must be proficient at financialreporting and forecasting and interface with internal accounting. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
